3- madara should have died when gai opened his final gate. it would have been a great and satisfying plot twists, and as sad as it would have been if gai had truly died, he would have been immortalized as a hero who died protecting the people important to him, which he would have wanted; it also would have made sense because madara spent like 100 years learning to become invincible to every single form of jutsu but forgot about punches
