most of my motivation behind homebrewing D&D stuff is the official rulebook fluff sucks. official tieflings have so much stupid shit in their lore, and its way narrow for my tastes. official Cuthbert is a chump with a stick. the distinction between 3 kinds of lizard people (one of the three is always evulll!!!1!!11) is arbitrary and nobody needs it. just use kobold/dragonborn/lizardfolk for the stats and perks but dont tell me these are 3 separate species
also that entire “this race has One culture and One alignment and These Personality Traits” thing they keep doing
