tbh i never understood why itachi was made to look 18 when he killed his clan, when he was only 13 or so? he was just a kid forced into a really unfortunate situation, but it comes off like he’s an adult who could’ve done something else.

tbh i think it was a retcon kishimoto did later and he didnt intend for itachi to be good initially fjfmfkdk writing wise it was executed brilliantly so i cant fault him on that. but i imagine making him younger was largely to make him more sympathetic

kishi isnt smart enough to do this and its 100% a retcon but if u consider the flashbacks from sasukes point of view he could just be imagining itachi as aging with him to maintain that authoritive position of an older brother
