Okay – When i do this, Im usually a lot more subtle, and I rarely call people out directly – But I’m pissed, and this is so fucking wrong I refuse to just not say anything.
This is regarding @marti1993 and @blamedorange, and a colonial era fic and commission that was made. At the end of this, there will be a collection of tags of everyone who helped to spread, or even just liked this – Because I’m not going to just let people think that this is it.
The fic and image are based on colonialism, long a dirty word on the internet and global stage. Considering that I’m British, I’ve had the joy of having people slag me off for our colonistic past even when I had nothing to do with it, and that I’ve explained that the only colonization I’m interested in anymore is of the space variety.
Marti however, focused on a fic that is set during our colonial era, in an alternative reality where the natives of a forbidden continent are home to Quirks and superhuman mutations. The morality of the colonizers has been called into question once or twice, but is set in the 18000′s, where the word “Colony” had weight to it, and had power.
I’ve seen Marti and Orange called a racist and transphobic for this fic and this image.
And let em explain something to you.
It fucking isn’t.
Racism would be a series of prejudices that are made based on racial differences – and while there may be signs of this happening – A, I haven’t seen them yet in the fic, and B – It’s an alternative fucking reality fic, and the other race here are fucking /freakish humans./ I’m nto even going to acknowledge the accusations of transphobic, cause they literally have no fucking happened – there isn’t even any way to mess this up – The two trans characters MHA has haven’t even been even remotely mentioned

this idea that everything is cut and dry, that ALL Europeans killed NAtives, and that ALL natives were hostile on sight of Europeans is straight up wrong – Humans don’t work that way. Half Native, half european children exist – What you are saying is that basically, their existence is a front to this narrative you’ve made for yourself.
What’s even more gauling is the fact that I’ve read the fic – I don’t think you have.
There is no fucking romance in it yet.
I don’t know what you THINK is happening, but the closest the two characters in question here have come to an intimate moment is standing next to one another. I question if you have actually read the fic.
Hell, take the Nazi’s – The biggest bunch of cunts to ever exist, by all definitions, expansionist and imperial – And yet, French women were known to fall in love with them – It was so common that they even got given a name and were publicly shamed frequently.
so if it happened with the biggest group of murdering cunts this world has ever seen, and that there are books, novels, and films to support this, why are you not point this out to people? Why aren’t you pointing out the romanticism of the Nazi regime?

there isn’t anything racist about remembering and retelling our history and our past. There’s nothing racist about remembering that we used to be colonistic bastards. There’s nothing racist about depicting a romance between the two.
Star Trek, a progressive show that I fell in love with, does this on several occasions – Why aren’t you attacking the big thing that apparently misrepresented to millions of millions of people? – you don’t because you know how absurd it would be to do so.
“Based on actual events that ruined peoples lives” This is an interesting point – Because most of our media does. How many pieces of media are made on war? About glorifying war and violence? How much of our media is based not on science and expansion into the stars, but between petty nations shitting on one another over metals and rocks? How much of it is based during a time of racism, and shows vicious actions taken against minority groups? How much of it is based of events that “Ruined peoples lives”?
Or are you just going to ignore that because it doesn’t fit your narrative here?
No – Colonialism is wrong. I agree with you. As a Brit, I’m ashamed of our old Empire and our old ways.
But to attack someone for making a fic based in an AU?
Your whole argument hinges on Mina – The native – falling in love with Izuku – The colonist soldier. What evidence do you have to say it won’t be the other way around?
You’re saying that you believe that this sort of topic shouldn’t even be explored. What you’re saying is that people of conflicting worlds should never interact. the modern day equivalent of this would be that Atheists and Muslims should never be romantically involved, or even that one should be in the others land – which isn’t how the world works anymore. It sounds more like you’re offended at the very notion of interracial romance.
Like it or not – This is a part of our history. And it must be explored.
I’m going to implore each of you – @mellowbearweaselneck, @unsoundnerd, @trans-tamakiamajiki, @toshinkos, @jackal-76, @vampire-himiko, @kitty-grace, @lesbiankendou, @luigipride@creatiiz@eggmight @raspadolesbian and everyone else involved – Actually READ MArti’s fic. Make the judgement for yourself – The natives and invaders havent even MET yet – You have NO IDEA whats going to happen. For all you know, you’ve sent death threats to someone who was about to deconstruct the entire notion of colonialism and point out how wrong it is and how we have the capacity to care for one another – YOU DONT FUCKING KNOW YET. I DONT EITHER.
Yet you’re going to spread this, and send both Marti and Orange messages telling them to KILL THEMSELVES?
I want you to actually think about the side you’re on here. Because this sounds a lot like the Pro Hero arc in MHA where Kohei got death threats for an outcome none of us knew – Remember how sickened by that we all were?
